steampunk goggles by deepset steampunk goggles by deepset
some steampunk goggles i made at work. they're not finished yet as i still have some aging down to do of the metal and they need a leather strap with a buckle. oh and they dont actually have the orange tint yet, i need to find some vinyl for that.

Please also swing by my art blog, I update it pretty regularly at the moment:

www.crisimikiwiki.blogspot.com

I appreciate all the interest in my goggles, but would also appreciate a credit when redistributing images of my work. Please refer back to this deviant account deepset.deviantart.com or to my blog cmwalkerart.blogspot.com

This helps me gain work for commissions etc. Many thanks for all your lovely messages. :)

well i dont make a living from 'this'. this piece was just a personal project, but my job is definately art-related. im generally a freelance artist, but there's not much money in it for me at the moment!

thanks mate!

We get commissioned by production companies to make models and occasionally do matte paintings. There isnt really any need for concept art there on site as its all sent to us from the art department of whatever production. However we do occasionally come up with our own designs for stuff. You work in the industry?

Most welcome!
(and the coveting goes on..)

ah..
Gotcha!

currently, no, i don't.

i'm a sequential artist/creator and freelancer. (to pay the bills)

(Biggest project right now is our "Hopeless" story..Gothic hybrid manga. written by myself and writing partner Bryn Colvin, who is on your side of the water. art by m'self)

would love to get my foot in that particular door though.

That antenna is completely amazing. Where do you work that lets you make goggles on the job, and will they hire me?

Thanks! I work at a Visual Effects company called Mattes and Miniatures at Bray Studios, next to Windsor. We're essentially a model-making company for the film and tv industry. There's been little work going around at the moment so ive just been doing these in my spare time there. Back to work soon though! :)
